I set down my backpack, unfold my large format camera, and begin the careful work of shaping the scene. When everything feels resolved, I make the exposure.
But that moment is only the beginning. The rest of the creative process unfolds in the darkroom—through the development of the negative, the slow emergence of the print, and finally, after weeks of work, the quiet satisfaction of looking at the overmatted image.
